The Rim Pad is a hoof pad designed with an open center and a raised outer rim that provides protection and support around the perimeter of the hoof while leaving the frog and much of the sole uncovered. This design helps reduce weight, allows better natural frog contact and circulation, and prevents debris from becoming trapped under a full pad. Rim pads are commonly used on performance, pleasure, and trail horses when moderate cushioning and hoof protection are needed without completely covering the sole.
